Finance Director

Our client is a small, fast-growing hi-tech engineering and manufacturing business that is part of a large, international group. The company is aiming for strong growth over the next few years based on an innovative and competitive offering in its sector within global markets but particularly with an Asian emphasis. The in-house team is small, but highly skilled and has the built-in capacity to deliver on the exciting expansion plans.

Your new role
As a member of the leadership team, the FD will work with the Chair, MD and other functional leads to set the culture and direction of the business and take ownership of the Company's finance function, covering all areas of accounting, compliance, controls, forecasting, budgeting and reporting, working closely with the parent company.
Key responsibilities will include managing 2 direct reports, developing long-term financial plans and strategies and identifying investment requirements to support projected business growth, as well as communicating funding requirements and cash flow management to the parent company and potential external investors. You will ensure engagement of key stakeholders in annual budgeting and forecasting and support achievement of financial targets and provide monthly financial and management reports and board reports and weekly project reports providing explanation of performance to date.
As the business transforms and opens new facilities, you will take the lead on the successful implementation of all financial aspects of an ERP system, make improvements in cross-site Tool project reporting and set up financial reporting in foreign subsidiaries.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with proven experience in a senior-level financial management role in the capital equipment manufacturing or semiconductor and electronics industry. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and execute financial plans and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams are essential, as well as exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

Any previous experience of working with overseas operations, particularly in Asia, would be highly beneficial.
