Finance Manager

As they continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced and visionary Finance Manager to join their leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts and Reporting

  • Prepare management accounts and quarterly reporting documents within agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare and review month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, etc.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review monthly deliveries and revenue, contribution, and margin calculations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and commentary on actual performance against budget/forecast.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly commercial analysis for divisional heads.
  • Ensure major contracts are run in accordance with the contract and within budget.
  • Manage, forecast, and account for all secondary income streams, third-party shares, and royalties.
  • Provide direction on divisional pipelines.
  • Oversee the financial and audit elements of all divisional contracts.
  • Keep the Financial Controller and divisional heads informed of all significant variances and issues.
  • Clearly explain the accounts to the CFOO and divisional heads and answer questions.
  • Liaise with statutory auditors annually, providing all necessary information.

ERP System Project

  • Assist with the successful rollout of the ERP Finance System, ensuring it is fit for purpose for the Commercial Finance team and wider business.
  • Implement purchase orders across divisions.
  • Assist the business with system queries.
  • Participate in and lead training sessions for the business as needed.
  • Ensure the Production Accounting system meets business and finance needs.
  • Identify process efficiencies to potentially reduce the month-end timetable.
  • Develop streamlined reporting for business stakeholders.

Business Support/Other

  • Manage accrued income to ensure revenue is billed promptly.
  • Liaise with the credit control manager and PMs to ensure timely billings and prompt payments, assisting in query resolution as needed.
  • Support the Commercial Finance team as required.
  • Ensure credit card reconciliations are completed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with divisional heads.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Production to establish and improve financial controls.
  • Conduct revenue and cost analysis to understand the business in more detail and suggest improvements to reduce costs and improve margin and contribution.
  • Provide analysis for new business proposals as required.
  • Improve processes, workpapers, and reports as necessary.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Essential experience in management accounts.
  • Preferred experience in a media environment, particularly TV production.
  • Experience in TV production finance or project management finance.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and thoroughness of approach.
  • Open-minded and solutions-oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Organised individual with a logical approach to work.
  • Strong Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships with operational managers.
  • Positive, proactive, and professional attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the role and within the wider team.
