Finance Director

The Key Responsibilities of the Finance Director, based on site in South Wales are:

  • Full responsibility for the Finance functions, including but not limited to;
  • The day-to-day management of a small team of accountants
  • The timely production of management accounts packs, including full analysis and commentary
  • All aspects of financial planning and analysis including annual budgets, monthly re-forecasts to reflect changing market conditions, and weekly outturn projections.
  • Reporting and analysing key operating metrics across the group, advising on corrective action as required.
  • Responsibility for statutory accounting requirements, corporation tax, and company secretarial, all of which are outsourced to external accountants.
  • Responsibility for 3 payrolls within the group, administration outsourced.
  • Key liaison for HMRC, Banking, Insurance, regulatory, legal, pension providers and external accountants.
  • Key contact for commercial agreements with third party suppliers
  • Effective cash-flow and treasury deposit management with robust Budget and Forecasting processes
  • Business partnering and advising Executive Committee members.
  • Continuous finance systems and process improvements.
  • Profit improvement initiatives.

Candidate attributes

In addition to sharing the group values, the successful candidate will be a hands on team player, comfortable rolling up the sleeves to working with the team to solve solutions, while equally comfortable being the ever professional corporate face of the organisation for external parties.

Key criteria includes:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • 5+ years post qualified experience working in industry at Financial Controller Level
  • Financial Services experience
  • A proven track record in adding value within a team led environment
  • Experience of working within a fast growth SME or Divisional role
  • The ability to influence, debate and seek solutions
  • A strong team Player
  • Right to work in UK
  • On site 90% of time (location necessitates essential to commute by car)

Remuneration

  • £70,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 days statutory and birthday
  • Health care plan
