Credit Controller

Becoming available due to growth, this Credit Controller position will sit within the friendly finance and accounting team and is an integral position for the company. Collecting aged debts is the aim of this role, so it calls for a candidate who is a confident and empathetic communicator, who can liaise at all levels and who has previous experience with credit control.

Credit Controller Responsibilities:

  • Contacting customers by phone and email to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Following up with customers that have aged debt on their account to request and arrange payment
  • Handling customer calls to efficiently resolve account queries
  • Informing the Finance Manager of problematic accounts and issuing debt collection procedures
  • Maintaining your selection of customer accounts, ensuring they are updated with all customer information
  • Creating new customer accounts and performing credit checks prior to orders being processed
  • Undertaking administration tasks which include raising credit notes and invoices
  • Allocating incoming payments to customer accounts
  • Undertaking bank, credit card and fuel card reconciliations

Credit Controller Skills and Experience:

  • Experience gained in a similar role, either as a Credit Controller or an Accounts Assistant with credit control responsibilities
  • A proven track record of taking responsibility for credit control duties and confidence dealing with debt-collecting
  • Strong IT skills with particular knowledge and experience in SAP, Proactis, Excel
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to successfully prioritise
  • Superb communication skills, able to articulate well and communicate clearly
  • Commercially aware and proactive, with a can-do attitude and sense of fun
