Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

We are seeking a Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join a dynamic, owner-led business who are enjoying significant, acquisitive growth. They are looking for a like-minded individual to head up their finance team and join them on their journey of continuing to set the bar high in a competitive space and keep growing the business.

This role would suit someone from an SME background who loves working in a fast-paced, face-to-face environment. You'll be based in a friendly, vibrant office in Swindon, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week.

This role will be overseeing a finance team of 13, with two direct reports. We are looking for someone with experience leading a similar sized finance team, capable of driving significant business growth and optimising financial operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead all financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the organisation.
  • Manage post-acquisition integration of businesses to ensure effective systems, processes, and timely group reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise resource allocation and profitability.
  • Oversee the finance team to maintain robust financial systems and processes, ensuring the production of accurate and timely financial information that informs strategic decision-making.
  • Integrate financial management and reporting of all acquisitions, reviewing and improving existing finance systems and processes.
  • Produce a robust annual budget for each company within the group and generate forecasts as required.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality monthly management accounts and financial information, including relevant KPIs.
  • Compare monthly performance with operating plans, budgets, and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to the senior leadership team.
  • Establish systems for managing and reporting cash flow to maximise liquidity and minimise financial risk.
  • Complete year-end financial statements and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning and support future acquisition activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Successful leadership of a finance team.
  • Proven experience in post-acquisition integration of business systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Expertise in group financial reporting and process management improvements.
  • Recognised accountancy qualification.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in a variety of accounting systems and MS Office, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask effectively.
