Annual Salary:
£50,000 to £60,000 (DOE)
Weekly Hours:
7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7am to 1pm
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Organisation of the shop floor.
- Production management, making sure jobs are allocated efficiently and go out on time.
- Managing vessels in production, making sure they are manufactured correctly to the drawing and solving day to day issues, drawing queries, material and consumable management, engraving nameplates.
- Ensuring materials are job ready.
- Quality control of incoming material and finished vessels
- Organising machining, ordering materials, NDE, third party inspectors.
- Hands on help where required eg moving vessels, loading and unloading wagons, taking vessel to be x-rayed etc. Using the crane and driving the forklift is essential.
- Day to day and periodic machine maintenance and calibration.
- Ensuring the Health & safety of the shopfloor, maintaining a tidy workshop, risk assessments and shop floor checks.
- Managing welder qualifications, and procedures.
- Supervision of all shop floor employees (discipline, welfare, well being, recruitment)
- Overseeing overtime work.
- Organising and maintaining our PED/PESR, ISO audits.
- Keep customer and supplier audits up to date.
- Liaise with clients - some require regular production updates, giving lead times etc.
- Dealing with customer complaints and non-conformities swiftly, proactively and positively.
- Attend weekly production meeting with a view to knowing where each job is.
- Keeping manufacturing schedule spreadsheet up to date (daily).
Requirements:
- Weld procedure and qualification knowledge.
- MIG/ TIG/ Subarc welding knowledge.
- Pressure vessel design and manufacture experience.
- NDE knowledge.
