We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Building Coordinator to oversee the safety, security, and maintenance of a residential property. This role is ideal for someone with a background in facilities management and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Act as a key-holder, ensuring the security of communal areas and facilities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for residents, contractors, and visitors, managing access to the building.
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs, maintenance, and servicing of communal areas and equipment.
  • Manage and monitor the property's laundry facilities and communal spaces.
  • Address and resolve complaints related to communal areas and facilities.
  • Conduct regular building inspections to identify and address repair, maintenance, and security issues.
  • Perform water testing and emergency equipment checks in communal areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors for fire risk assessment actions and building access.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, documenting outcomes and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Provide cover for other team members as required and manage out-of-hours emergencies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in facilities management.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to residents' needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with older people or the general public in a service-based role is desirable.
  • Good understanding of diversity, equality, data protection, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in IT (Word, Excel, Outlook, and in-house systems).
  • Knowledge of the housing/building management sector.
  • Understanding or experience in health and safety management.
  • Flexibility to cover emergencies and travel to alternative sites as required.
  • Driving ability with access to a vehicle for work purposes (location dependent).
