Contract Site Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Site Manager to oversee the construction of a new Ministry of Defense (MOD) prison facility in the North West. This is a fixed-term contract position, ideal for a professional with a strong background in managing secure and sensitive construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Take full responsibility for managing all on-site activities, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Health & Safety Oversight: Implement and maintain strict health and safety protocols in line with MOD regulations, ensuring the safety of all personnel on site.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact between the construction team, subcontractors, and MOD representatives, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets the required specifications and MOD standards, conducting regular inspections and audits.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the project progresses without significant issues.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed and timely reports on project progress, challenges, and milestones to senior management and MOD officials.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all work adheres to MOD guidelines, including security protocols specific to prison construction projects.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of site management experience, with at least 2 years working on MOD or high-security projects, preferably in prison construction.
  • Certifications: Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid & DBS certificates are mandatory. A degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
