My client is a top 40 ranked law firm and they are seeking an Inquest solicitor to join their expanding Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team. The Regulatory Healthcare Advisory team is very diverse, offering a broad range of expert advice to organisations and individuals in relation to health-based regulatory matters and proceedings. They have an enviable client base, from NHS Trusts to private healthcare providers and cover inquests, Court of Protection applications, Mental Health Tribunals and other regulatory challenges; including advising on and defending prosecutions by Care Quality Commission.
The role will primarily focus on managing a caseload of inquest files for their various NHS clients, care homes and other organisations, and possibly some of the broader healthcare advisory work. With their diverse offering, inevitably there will be both the scope and need for our lawyers to be involved in work for clients outside of their core caseload.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Manage a case load of files
- Attend Inquest hearings at court, including travel.
- Advocacy at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests
- Advise on a broad range of health and care-related matters
- Work in accordance with the firm's values
Essential
- Qualified solicitor 3-7yr PQE
- Advocacy experience
- A willingness to develop advocacy skills
Desirable
- Court of Protection experience
- Mental health experience
- Regulatory defence experience
- Healthcare experience is desirable
- Inquest experience is desirable
