Reed Education are currently working with a school in Worthing who are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join their team, initially for a few weeks but the right candidate may be asked to continue on in the school.

The role:
- Helping pupils with their learning, often with a particular focus on maths, reading, and writing.
- Supervising group activities.
- Setting up equipment for lessons and keeping classrooms safe and tidy.
- Helping develop programs of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials.
- Motivating and encouraging pupils.
- Getting the classroom ready for lessons.
- Listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories.
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks.
- Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records.
- Supporting teachers in managing class behavior.
- Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons.
- Helping with outings and sports events.
- Taking part in training.
- Carrying out administrative tasks.
To be successful you will:
- An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults.
- Good organizational skills.
- Flexibility and creativity.
- Enjoyment of working with children.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour.
- Patience and a sense of humour.
- Have right to work in the UK and a DBS on the update service (we can support with the DBS)
- Previous experience is ideal but Graduates interested in a teaching would be considered.
- Qualifications in Support Work/Childcare of Counselling are also beneficial for this role but not mandatory.
