Remote position - very little travel

HSE Recruitment are proud to be working with an engineering business, who are looking for a HSEQ Advisor on an 8 month fixed term contract who can start immediately.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK although a central location, would be ideal as you may be supporting field-based activities anywhere in the UK. Outside of this, you have full flexibility to work from home and/or from one of the UK Offices.

You will report into the Head of HSEQ and be part of a team of advisors, who will make sure you have the support and guidance to get up to speed quickly. You will providing advice to stakeholders across the business, supporting and conducting planned audits, be available to deal with any questions or queries that might come up. It will be a broad supporting role across the business, being on hand to take tasks off the safety team to free up their time to focus on other areas. In the first few months you wil be heavily involved in office compliance due to an external audit at the end of the year.

You will be the point of contact for staff who are going to high risk location, this will heavily focus on the rail industry. You won't necessarily be doing high risk activities but the locations themselves can be high risk as they might be track side.

The person

  • Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate with a good couple of years' experience as an advisor.
  • Someone who is used to working with remote staff across different UK locations and ideally in other countries.
  • Experience doing dynamic risk assessments without actually being there
  • Any lead auditor qualification or experience with this/ ISO systems experience would be beneficial
  • Experience within engineering or multidiscipline workforces
  • Confidence and autonomy
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload but be adaptable to meet tight project deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Able to build relationships, effectively manage stakeholders, including keeping others up to date with progress.
