We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance team on a temporary basis to provide essential day-to-day accounting support. This role is crucial for covering a short-term peak in accounting work and will involve working closely with the Senior Managers for a 6 month period.
Day to Day of the role:
- Perform daily reconciliation of Xero, and inhouse CRM system, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial records.
- Input incomes, either via import template or directly from income received into the bank account or cheques received via post.
- Set up bills and invoices for payment, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial obligations.
- Handle income via cheques, including banking and recording cheque.
- Monitor purchase orders, reconcile debit card payments, and ensure all necessary documentation is included.
- Oversee expense claims, verifying coding, calculations, and ensuring adherence to the approvals process.
- Provide administrative support, including answering calls for the Finance team, managing email inboxes, and supporting the HR team when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 1 year's experience in a finance role.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic bookkeeping and accountancy processes.
- Proficiency in using accountancy software; experience with Xero is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Need to be UK based near to Portsmouth
