Procurement Specialist

Location: Easton on the Hill, PE9 3NZ / Hybrid (at least 2 days a week in the office)

Salary: £33,402 - £41,752 per annum

Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

The Role

To support the organisation globally in improving procurement processes, value received from its suppliers and engagement with the internal stakeholder community. Working with departments and the Head of Procurement to deliver effective procurement solutions for projects and on-going requirements whilst managing risks to an appropriate level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading product category and projects reviews through market analysis, tenders, contract negotiations and successful implementation, mainly in the UK but potentially globally.
  • Provide contract/supplier management guidance to staff outside of the function on their Procurement and Supplier Management Policies/Frameworks. Including interpretation of these frameworks and conflict resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in process or supplier relationships/commercial terms and where agreed work to deliver the benefit. Provide procurement advice to the organisation to help them with supplier engagement but also support the value add agenda.
  • Where priorities mean it is necessary, support others within the team to deliver on their objectives.
  • Work to minimise risks to the organisation from suppliers and supply chain.
  • Support implementation of a new Finance and procurement system
  • Ensure necessary systems and admin activities are carried out accurately and in a timely manner

Skills & Experience

  • Strong general educational background
  • MCIPS or Working towards MCIPS
  • Highly IT literate
  • Strong written communication skills, able to write complex reports and tender documents.
  • Experience of supplier negotiations and relationship management
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to prioritise and multi-task
  • Strong ability to influence using multiple styles as appropriate
  • Strong commercial acumen demonstrated in previous roles
