Despatch Assistant

Our client, a leading aerospace engineering firm based in Rochester, are looking to recruit a Despatch Assistant to join their Customer Care and Logistics department on a Part-Time basis, covering 24 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

Working Monday-Thursday. 12pm-5pm and Friday 10am-2pm the Despatch Assistant will be responsible for managing outbound and inbound shipments, communicating with internal/external teams, and identifying any issues that may lead to a delay in the products being despatched.

The main duties of the Despatch Assistant will include:

  • Creating shipping labels delivery documentation.
  • Email communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Packing parts and relevant delivery documentation.
  • Loading vans and taking delivery of goods.
  • Checking and filing delivery notes, noting any discrepancies.
  • Moving stock around the factory by hand and via a pallet truck.

As a Despatch Assistant you will have:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, production, or logistics role.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of email
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good work ethic and time keeping skills.
  • You must be physically fit as the role entails a degree of manual handling and periods of standing.

Shifts - 24 Hours per week. Monday to Thursday 12pm-5pm and Friday 10am-2pm
