Family Solicitor: Legal Aid Contract Supervisor

My client is seeking a Family Solicitor with over 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in family law who is looking to make a proactive change and shape their career path in public law. The position offers a manageable caseload, extensive training, and the opportunity to become a supervisor of their legal aid department and a member of the Children's Panel.

Day to day of the role:

  • Manage a caseload of 30+ legal aid matters, with the potential to expand.
  • Engage in care cases, with training provided to those with less experience in this area.
  • Work closely with the team and under supervision and guidance of department director.
  • Take the lead on supervising their legal aid contract, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Undergo training for legal aid contract supervision and accreditation to become a supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be a solicitor with 3+ years PQE in family law.
  • Experience in care cases is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive individual seeking to develop their career and willing to undergo training.
  • Must be interested in legal aid work and have the ambition to mould their role within the practice.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
