They are currently seeking a Global Financial Crimes Associate to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland. What you'll do:

As a Global Financial Crime Associate, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our client's operations. You will be tasked with assessing financial crime risks associated with existing clients through ongoing screening processes. Your ability to execute adverse media screening alerts promptly will be crucial in this role. You will also act as an escalation point for relevant Operations and Regional GFC teams, ensuring efficient escalations. Your role will involve liaising with key stakeholders within Legal and Compliance and the Business to manage timely escalation of issues identified in alert reviews. In this fast-paced environment, your ability to re-prioritise work in response to business needs and work towards tight deadlines will be essential.

  • Assess the financial crime risks associated with existing clients through ongoing screening processes.
  • Execute adverse media screening alerts in a timely manner, including escalation to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as an escalation point for relevant Operations and Regional GFC teams to ensure efficient escalations.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders within Legal and Compliance and the Business to manage timely escalation of issues identified in alert reviews.
  • Work independently while collaborating and coordinating as part of the global team.
  • Handle a fast-paced environment, re-prioritising work in response to business needs and working to tight deadlines.

What you bring:

The ideal Global Financial Crime Associate will bring recent experience in financial crimes, compliance, testing, investigations or other risk/control functions. Experience of investigating screening alerts, including adverse media is advantageous. A good understanding of financial markets and products is beneficial. The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills along with a university degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials. As a highly-motivated and organised self-starter, you will demonstrate a good understanding of financial crimes risks and be able to recognise and escalate risks and issues appropriately. Your ability to effectively handle a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.

  • Recent experience in financial crimes, compliance, testing, investigations or other risk/control functions.
  • Experience of investigating screening alerts, including adverse media.
  • Understanding of financial markets and products (Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and Investment Banking / Capital Markets).
  • University degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good understanding of financial crimes risks.
  • Highly-motivated and organised self-starter.
  • Ability to effectively handle a fast-paced environment.
