Job Title: Interim Group Financial Controller
Location: Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in Reading / 3-4 from home

Stanton House is currently recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller to join a dynamic, private equity-backed business with a turnover of approximately £20 million. This ambitious organisation very much on a growth trajectory. We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Interim Group Financial Controller to make significant impact in key areas of financial management and control.
Role Overview
As Interim Group Financial Controller, you will focus on managing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting during a period of change. This includes overseeing the audit process, consolidating multi-currency financials, and enhancing system utilisation for maximum efficiency and accuracy. Working closely with the CFO, you will be expected to bring a strong technical skill set, excellent organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to refining financial processes and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Process Management - Lead and manage the external audit process to ensure timely and accurate completion, including preparation of financial statements and necessary disclosures.You will also,act as the main point of contact with external auditors, providing accurate and relevant information as needed.
Multi-Currency Consolidations - Oversee and execute the consolidation of multi-currency financials for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will Prepare consolidated monthly and quarterly financial reports for review by senior management and the board.
Financial Process Improvement and Control - Assess and strengthen existing financial processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control. As well as this, implement and enforce robust financial controls across the group, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
System Enhancement and Utilisation - Maximise the usage of current financial systems (SAP ByD), identifying gaps in utilisation and areas for potential system improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a private equity-backed or high-growth business environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with a solid understanding of IFRS.
- Hands-on experience with multi-currency consolidations and managing group audit processes.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, design, and implement improved financial processes and controls.
- Proficient in financial systems/ERP platforms; experience in maximising system capabilities and training users is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
