Temporary, 3 month contract (Possible temp to perm!)

Office Based, Full Time - 40 Hours per Week
Rolling rota, alternating between 2 shift patterns every other week. Week 1: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:00 and Week 2: Mon - Fri 10:00 - 18:00. Once every 2 months you must work a Saturday morning 08:00 - 13:00 once you are fully trained

My client, a national social justice charity with over 50 years of experience in transforming lives, strengthening communities, and reducing crime is looking for a Referral Officer, you will play a crucial role in the success of the CAS-2 service. Based in the Leeds office, you will be part of the Referral Team, the initial point of contact for all CAS-2 related enquiries. You will process referrals from stakeholders like prison, probation, and court, determine suitability and eligibility for placement, and liaise with these referrers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience and advance in various criminal justice professions, working alongside a range of criminal justice agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Process referrals from referrers.
  • Maintain accurate records and flag any anomalies to the Referral Hub Manager.
  • Make time-sensitive decisions regarding potential resident placements in line with policies and procedures.
  • Assess and document referral suitability, especially for placements with complex criteria and additional risk.
  • Coordinate and collate feedback narratives from residents in line with policies.

What We Need From You:

  • An interest and passion for working within the Criminal Justice System.
  • Previous experience in the Criminal Justice System, Not for Profit Industry, Social Justice, or similar settings involving work with vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant IT equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the Referral Team.
