Communications and Engagement Manager (Environmental and Sustainability)

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Communications and Engagement Manager for our client a local government organisation based in Bristol.

The successful candidate will engage with senior stakeholders, develop compelling narratives, and craft business cases that align with their climate and ecological strategy and action plan.

This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant. Hybrid working 2 days in the office.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that advance our environmental campaigns and programmes, ensuring alignment with the organisation's overall objectives.
  • Write persuasive and well-researched business cases to support proposition development. They will be presented to senior leadership and require a deep understanding of both environmental issues and business imperatives.
  • Craft compelling stories and narratives that effectively communicate the impact and importance of climate emergency action to a variety of audiences.
  • Create and deliver high-quality presentations to senior stakeholders, ensuring that complex data and concepts are presented in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
  • Manage and respond to any communication challenges that arise, ensuring that our organisation's reputation remains strong and our messaging is consistent.

Personal Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in a senior communications role.
  • Proven experience in a communications role with a focus on environmental or sustainability issues.
  • Strong ability to write business cases, with a track record of successful presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent narrative creation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling stories.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic communications plans.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: £350.00 per day
