As the Senior Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser:

  • Reporting directly into your Merchandiser you'll be running the management of multiple categories (or if at Junior level, directly into the Management team).
  • Progress to owning a sub-cat if operating at a senior, or established level
  • Ability to not only read all trading and reporting tools, but can contribute to the wider team with offering actions and solutions
  • Have an analytical mindset from your experience in the industry so can piece together key performance indicators to identify performance highlights and risks
  • Manage: sizing, ratios, rebuys, intake, newness
  • Monitor and manage stock levels with awareness of cover
  • Overseeing the critical path and delivery schedule with the wider team
  • Review and action promotions and mark downs
  • Accountable for your own categories, budget, option count, OTB, and trading actions
  • Lead Monday Trade actions, through providing achievable and commercial solutions to your departments performance
  • Deep diving history; building lessons learnt and strategy packs
  • Setting the parameters for each trading window with clear strategic goals around range size, planning, forecasting, cover, and margin guidelines
  • Work closely to your buying team to ensure the merchandising KPI's are clear and achievable for the product development and delivery of new ranges
  • Accurately forecast volume and newness lines
  • Identify and set objectives to improve bottom line margin
  • Identify and de-risk delivery, lead times or capacity with your buying teams and suppliers
