Job Title: Air Freight Specialist
Our client are a well established Freight Forwarder, with a long standing history within the Logistics and Freight Forwarding sector. They are looking to further develop their presence in the North East, so are looking for enthusiastic, driven individuals to join the team to support the further growth and expansion of the company.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To co-ordinate shipments of large scale materials and equipment across the globe, providing all transport and logistics related services to Transport and Logistics Lead, Project Team, Suppliers and Clients.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Airfreight Specialist to join our team for an exciting opportunity in Harrow, Middlesex.
Key Features of the role:
Shipment coordination and processing for air freight export & import
Shipment tracking and order review
Rate negotiations and placing orders with airlines
Preparation of freight documents as well as freight invoices and outgoing invoices
Preparation, monitoring, and checking of customs documents
Monitoring compliance with dangerous goods regulations
Monitoring of transport processes and loading of cargo (sometimes also on site)
Creation of air freight offers
Checking incoming invoices
Creation of reports
Comprehensive cost control for every transport
Customer support, mainly in English
Controlling, monitoring, and reporting on current project status
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE/BE:
Have at least 2 years of professional experience in the air freight sector
Professional experience in a comparable position in an international environment
Experience in export/import/cross trades, air freight, sea freight and land transport (Desirable)
Fluent in spoken and written English
Good knowledge of MS Office applications

Level 7 Aviation security check
Completed dangerous goods training CBTA Module C, C&F
