Assistant Operations Manager

We are seeking an Operations Manager with a strong background in traffic operations management within the logistics or transportation industry. This leadership role involves ensuring efficient and effective operations across various departments, supervising a team, and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Day to Day of the role:
- Manage and supervise daily operations across the company's departments, ensuring coordination and optimization of activities.
- Oversee the movement of our mixed fleet, including rigid and articulated vehicles, to provide exceptional haulage services throughout the UK.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement strategies to improve operational performance.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring deadlines are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in traffic operations management within the logistics or transportation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK road haulage regulations and best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with flatbed vehicles is required.
