Contract Surveyor

The Contract Surveyor will be responsible for delivering planned and cyclical investment works, ensuring all projects are managed in line with business and customer expectations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Contract & financial management of planned & cyclical works from initial feasibility through to defects period sign off.
  • Managing projects in line with time, cost and quality milestones.
  • Monitor health and safety to ensure all construction activities are being carried out safely in accordance with H&S requirements & documentation.
  • Complete regular site audits & inspections to ensure that a high quality product is being delivered and take action to maintain standards as required.
  • Chair regular progress meetings with consultants & contractors, and associated record keeping including minutes and progress reports.
  • Ensure contractors perform in accordance with SLA,s agreed KPI's, all relevant legislation, CDM, Building regs & statutory bodies.
  • Produce regular reports on the performance of contractors and consultants.
  • Provide detailed specifications, drawings, and tender documentation for ad hoc projects including planned & cyclical maintenance works using appropriate forms of contract.
  • Update in house systems with completion data ensuring that processes are in place to allow GPHG to monitor all aspects of contracts.

What you'll need:

  • HNC/D (NVQ Level 4) or Degree in a Building related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a similar property related role.
  • Up to date knowledge of the legislation & statutory obligations that govern the housing sector.

What we need from you:

  • Significant knowledge of the building industry including investment and maintenance in social housing, with relevant contract management experience delivering of planned and cyclical investment programmes.
  • Proven experience of managing contractors and consultants, developing successful relationships, while achieving challenging targets and objectives.
  • Good knowledge of using data for decision making, reporting on performances, identifying trends and patterns and making changes accordingly.
  • Significant experience of working to detailed programmes and plans with relevant timescales relating to work schedules.
  • Managing individual project budgets.
  • Commitment to work in partnership with others for the benefit of Great Places.
  • Ability to work flexibly and when needed outside normal working hours to ensure service continuity.
  • A passion for customer service.
  • Representing great places at external stakeholders meetings.
  • You will be required to attend a number of face to face training sessions as well as virtual sessions and e-learning as part of your role and is of equal importance as the day to day aspects.
