We are excited to offer the opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and flexible individual to join our successful primary school in north Leeds as a Site Superintendent. The role involves working a regular afternoon shift pattern and liaising with our other Superintendent to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the school site. This term-time only position includes an additional 10 days during school holidays to meet the needs of the school.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Lock and unlock school buildings and areas, ensuring security at all times.
  • Conduct regular security checks, monitor fire safety equipment, and carry out fire drills.
  • Respond to alarm systems and monitor CCTV or surveillance equipment as needed.
  • Liaise with police, security, and surveillance contractors and manage lettings.
  • Undertake appropriate repairs, minor plumbing, redecorating, and fixing.
  • Organise maintenance duties to ensure general upkeep of the premises.
  • Operate and maintain heating plant and lighting systems, and oversee electrical testing.
  • Conduct site inspections and record repair and maintenance requirements.
  • Collect waste for removal and undertake emergency and specialist cleaning tasks.
  • Coordinate deliveries and monitor performance of contracts.
  • Supervise and organise portering duties, manage stock, and direct cleaning/site staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, security, and health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using equipment and materials related to maintenance and security.
  • Willingness to participate in training and performance development activities.
  • Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau background check is required.
