On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Retail Banking until the end of this year contract, based on ad hoc travel to either locations of Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham.

Join us as a Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Retail Banking:

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will play a critical role in analysing and managing credit risk across unsecured loan products, including credit cards, personal loans, and overdrafts. Reporting directly to the Head of Loan Credit Risk, this individual will support day-to-day credit risk management activities, focusing on the analysis of trends, risk performance, and the production of management information (MI) and ad hoc analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to quickly assimilate into the team and contribute to the effective management of retail credit risks.

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Retail Banking, you will be responsible for:

  • Analysing and interpreting trends in unsecured loan products to understand underlying risk factors.
  • Providing insights into the causes of these trends and their potential impact on the business.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of credit risk across various unsecured lending products, including credit cards, loans, and overdrafts.
  • Producing high-quality management information (MI) reports and conducting analysis to support strategic decision-making within the credit risk function.
  • Working closely with the Head of Loan Credit Risk and other stakeholders to ensure effective management of unsecured loan risks.
  • Utilising SQL, SaaS, PowerCurve, and other relevant tools to conduct analysis and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance credit risk processes and methodologies, ensuring they remain robust and effective in managing risk.

The skills you'll need:

  • Proven experience in credit risk analysis within retail banking, specifically dealing with unsecured loans, credit cards, and overdrafts.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SaaS, PowerCurve, and other relevant risk management tools.
  • Strong background in retail banking products and credit risk management.
  • Ability to quickly understand and interpret data trends and risk performance, providing actionable insights.
  • A self-starter who can hit the ground running and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
