Head of Fund Finance

Equifind are recruiting for a Head of Fund Finance to join a leading venture capital firm that invests in seed and early-stage businesses across UK & North American markets.

This long-established investment group has a strong track record of backing some of the world's biggest companies at both early and growth stages. Their $7 billion portfolio spans sectors including banking, health technology, SaaS and consumer markets.

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Fund Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the financial management, valuations, and compliance of their funds.

Key deliverables:

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the firm's funds, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, investor reports, and fund performance metrics.
  • Manage the preparation of capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly valuations across the portfolio
  • Support fundraising efforts by providing financial insights and materials to prospective investors.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the firm's leadership, including analysis of fund performance, liquidity management, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Support the investment team to evaluate the financial implications of potential investments and exits.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimise fund performance and support the firm's long-term growth objectives.
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with fund operations and investments.

Application criteria:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA preferred)
  • Ideally 3-5 years post-qualifications experience within a venture capital or private equity fund
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Self-organised and self-motivated with a result-orientated mindset.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Office.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
