Tameside Council are seeking a Contract Manager to oversee and develop the Tameside Schools PFI contracts, ensuring they support improved education attainment and provide value for money. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage complex relationships within structured contractual processes.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Raising Change Variation Notices (CVNs) and Authority Request for Funds (ARFs) for school projects.
  • Approving CVNs post-school approval and managing requisitions for CVNs/ARFs.
  • Ensuring accurate invoicing against job paperwork and timely receipting for payment.
  • Maintaining communication with schools, answering queries, and attending meetings regarding invoicing.
  • Keeping project trackers up to date and verifying monthly project reports for accuracy and performance deductions.
  • Attending monthly meetings with Service Providers (SPVs) and Facilities Management companies to discuss reports.
  • Reviewing and approving Unitary Charge invoices monthly, checking all elements including utilities, performance deductions, and catering.
  • Liaising with schools on contract and Facilities Management issues, attending defect meetings, and preparing governance reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in managing PFI contracts within the public sector.
  • Proficiency in managing complex and multi-dimensional relationships.
  • Ability to oversee the delivery of quality services and targeted benefits.
