Main Purpose of Job:

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for delivering the engineering strategy and managing the day-to-day operations of the Engineering function. You will oversee all aspects of the department, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves leading project work, including machinery replacement, capex management, and team development to support the site's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Manage revenue and capex budgets and identify investment requirements for asset improvements.
  • Asset Care: Implement asset care strategies to maintain and enhance asset performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement activities within the team and foster a health and safety culture.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and establish engineering standards for the team.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all statutory and mandatory health and safety requirements on site.
  • Contractor Management: Manage third-party contractors and service providers to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and manage best practice engineering planning processes and procedures to improve operational performance.
  • Project Management: Develop and maintain project plans to ensure milestones are met.

Key Skills and Relevant Experience:

  • Qualifications: Engineering and management qualifications are required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior management role, ideally within FMCG companies.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in developing and leading engineering teams, with strong leadership traits and project management skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Multi-skilled engineering experience and lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Strategic Approach: Proactive and capable of contributing to the broader business strategy.

Driving Licence:

A valid UK driving licence and access to a car are essential due to the location.
