Sports & Fitness Lecturer

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Sports, Health & Fitness Lecturer to join our innovative team for the upcoming academic year. This is your chance to inspire and educate our students, contributing to the development of future professionals in the sports, health, and fitness industries.

About the Role: As a Sports, Health & Fitness Lecturer, you will:

  • Teach and assess a variety of courses, including Sports, Health & Fitness, Academy/Enrichment programs, for students aged 14-19 and adult learners.
  • Contribute to course development and administration, ensuring our curriculum meets national standards, local community needs, and employment requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues across the College.

Main duties:

  • Deliver engaging lessons on a range of courses at both community and main College sites.
  • Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator for designated student groups.
  • Develop and implement student-cantered teaching and learning strategies.
  • Prepare syllabuses, schemes of work, and assess learning outcomes.
  • Provide regular feedback and tutorial support to students.
  • Liaise with employers and agencies regarding student placements and career opportunities.

Specific Duties:

  • Teach BTEC Sports, CYQ Level 2&3, and/or Academy/Enrichment coaching.
  • Prepare teaching materials and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Attend course team meetings and contribute to the evaluation of learning programs.
  • Implement College policies, including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area or have recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate effective teaching skills and the ability to adapt teaching materials.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Can plan, organise, and operate independently.
  • Work well as part of a team and are aware of current trends in Further Education.
