A fantastic position has arisen for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join an ambitious growing Insurance firm within the London Insurance market.

Job Summary

The Assistant Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of an international (Re)Insurance broking firm. They would be responsible for various financial tasks and administrative duties to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Support - Assisting in maintaining financial records and preparation of financial reports including monthly P&Ls and reporting to Finance Director (FD).
  • Budget Assistance - Support in the preparation of annual budgets and monitoring.
  • Compliance - Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal financial policies and assisting Compliance Director with compliance matters.
  • Audit Support – Assisting in the FD in preparing documentation and information for audits.
  • Assisting in submissions of work packages into the Bureau (Lloyds of London).
  • Assisting in preparation of Financial Regulatory reporting.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks - Perform additional financial and administrative tasks as required.

Experience & Skills:

 Prior experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally with some progress in accountancy examinations.

 Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

 Knowledge of insurance industry practices.

 Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
