Job description:

We are currently hiring for a Laboratory Team Leader with expertise in the assessment of food contaminants to join our Premier Analytical Services in High Wycombe. Your role is to provide up-to-date advice on chemical contaminants within the food industry with respect to clients and to ensure that food safety and quality risks are proactively managed. You will be out and about meeting with different customers as well as carrying exciting innovative work in the lab.

As our next Team Leader Contaminants, you'll be driving the contaminants team within the chemistry section, leading team development and organisation. You will be instrumental in providing effective service provision to clients and assisting with new method developments, validations, and troubleshooting. Your future will be working towards providing up-to-date advice on chemical contaminants in food products and ensuring the proactive management of food safety and quality risks.

The Key Requirements...

  • Able to liaise directly with clients to report results, as well as convey the significance of the results themselves.
  • A good understanding of the theory and practice of separation science are required while some experience of analytical method development and validation are desirable
  • Competent extracting and quantifying trace contaminants from complex matrices
  • Indepth knowledge of chemical contaminants from ideally a food background
