Trainee Legal Cashier required
Based in Edgware
Full-time hours only - office based
Full training provided - no previous Legal Cashier experience needed
Must have Bookkeeping experience with knowledge of VAT
Salary is up to £30k p.a. depending on experience
The firm will fund and support you to qualify as a Legal Cashier - The Institute of Legal Finance and Management (ILFM)
Well established fast growing law firm based in Edgware are looking to recruit a Bookkeeper to train as a Legal Cashier to join their fun and very friendly firm. They are looking for someone who will fit with the firm, someone who has a good sense of humour, lots of common sense, a strong work ethic, and most importantly someone who will stay long term. The firm has an extremely low turnover of staff and are one of my favorite clients to recruit for. They offer a happy and progressive working environment.
The ideal Trainee Legal Cashier/Bookkeeper skills and experience:
- Must have a good understanding of Bookkeeping
- Must have a good understanding of VAT
- Must have working knowledge of word and excel - They don't need an expert
- Must have excellent data entry skills - accuracy is essential in this role
- Must live local to Edgware - within 30-40 mins max
- Must have the desire to build a long term career as a cashier - this role will progress overtime
The role of Trainee Legal Cashier will include but not limited to:
- Mentored by the Office Manager/Senior Cashier you will learn everything required to assist with all the firms daily accounting needs
- Assisting Fee Earners with recording their billing & charges
- Processing and posting data into the ledger accounts
- Checking and recording bank transactions/transfers In & Out
- Posting bills
- Lots of data entry
- Answering calls - overflow only when the receptionist & admin staff are on other calls
- In time you will learn to process payroll using sage 50 payroll and authorise payments
- You will learn the SRA rules and be fully trained on their case management system
Salary is negotiable depending on your level of experience! The firm will consider hiring an experienced/qualified Legal Cashier but they would prefer to train someone to their way of working.
