TAKE THE FIRST STEP INTO A CAREER AS A GEOGRAPHY TEACHER!

Prospero Teaching are actively seeking Geography graduates with degrees who want to work as Teaching Assistants and possibly become teachers in the future.

We are seeking Geography Graduate with a degree in Geography to work in a secondary school in Enfield. We are especially seeking Geography graduates with good grades at GCSE, A level and with a geography-related degree and individuals with good communication skills and dedication.

As a geography teaching assistant, you will be working in a secondary school environment with teenagers who require continuity, positive role models, patience and understanding.

WHAT DOES THE GEOGRAPHY GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE INVOLVE:

  • Supporting the class teacher and students during lessons - various subjects to ensure you learn how to support students specifically
  • Building a rapport with 5 - 6 students with specific needs and implementing strategies to nurture, engage and raise attainment in their secondary years
  • 1:1 Geography tuition sessions supporting your subject specialism
  • Running intervention groups in your subject area to build their knowledge of the subject

WHAT SUPPORT WILL I BE GIVEN AS A GEOGRAPHY GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT?

  • You'll be given training, guidance and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero and our Training and Development Team (all experienced teachers) as well as from the school themselves.
  • A programme of FREE Training and CPD sessions are also offered.

School support:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll embark on a journey of growth and development, fully supported every step of the way. The school boasts a comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your role and provide invaluable support to the learners. Led by qualified specialists, the training sessions cover a wide range of topics, including effective strategies for supporting learners, managing diverse behaviors, and elevating academic achievement. You'll learn how to facilitate both group and one-on-one tuition sessions, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each student.

GEOGRAPHY GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT:

Full-time school hours, 8am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be required to run an after-school club once a week until 4.30pm and attend a departmental meeting once a week.

The role is paid weekly at a daily rate of £105 per day and can become a permanent post in the future.
