We are seeking a Project Engineer to join an award-winning organisation, responsible for the project management and engineering activities essential for successful project execution. Reporting to the Projects Director, this role involves managing various stages of project development, from pre-order to final implementation, ensuring all project requirements related to quality, time, and budget are met.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers during the pre-order/quotation stage, focusing on system design, estimating, and installation requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities post-order, ensuring smooth handover to the Project Management Team.
  • Work closely with Design Engineers on detailed drawing work, depending on project size and complexity.
  • Conduct site surveys with Design Engineers for the production of manufacturing drawings.
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment and services necessary for system installation.
  • Conduct inspection visits during manufacture and final inspection before dispatch to the customer.
  • Manage procurement of standard OEM parts within the project budget, obtaining quotes, and raising purchase orders to meet delivery and installation deadlines.
  • Enter all sub-orders into the company CRM system and allocate costs to the relevant project.
  • Communicate layout and arrangement drawings and installation arrangements with site engineers or customer representatives.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Team to ensure invoices are raised at key project stages.
  • Conduct site visits during installation for inspection and to understand field conditions.
  • General administration including updating project files, handling inbound calls, making enquiries, and arranging travel and accommodations as required.
  • Attend customer sites and meetings as dictated by project needs.
  • Report any financial cost overruns to the Directors in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management and engineering within a relevant sector.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and proficient in general administrative tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to travel as required for project needs.
