Client Finance Officer Opportunity at Harrow Council
Are you a self-driven and motivated individual seeking an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council? Join our expanding team as a Client Finance Officer. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in the day-to-day administration functions within the Adult Social Care Team.
Key Responsibilities:
" Undertake accurate financial assessments based on customer-provided information to ensure correct service charges.
" Stay informed about complex and evolving legislation related to residential financial assessments, welfare benefits, money management, social service charges, and related matters.
" Coordinate income collection and investigate non-receipt of income. Promptly apply legal charges to properties when necessary.
" Manage the financial affairs of customers who cannot do so independently, acting as an appointee for their state benefits. This includes reconciling bank accounts used for customer finances.
" Maintain individual customer files and database records to ensure accurate billing, financial order, and efficient estate finalization.
" Handle the finances of clients who are mentally incapacitated (under the Court of Protection) or physically incapacitated (under Powers of Attorney).
" Arrange funerals for Borough residents who pass away without family or funds.
" Efficiently organize designated support service staff.
Experience and Skills:
" Detailed knowledge of:
o Financial Assessments
o Court of Protection
o Appointeeship
o Debt management
o Protection Of Property
" Some knowledge of:
o Provision of services for public funerals
o Statutory responsibilities related to the role
o Engaging with relevant statutory bodies
o Service delivery across a range of areas
" Ability to identify key elements of the service.
