My client is seeking a Director of Finance and Corporate Services to join their Executive Board and lead the strategic direction and overall performance of various corporate services. This pivotal role comes with significant budget accountability and requires a professional who can contribute to the vision of the organisation, embody their values, and promote a positive culture in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Team, working closely with the Chief Executive and the Board to overcome financial challenges and drive growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the Finance function to deliver innovative financial strategies and effective financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory legal duties associated with audit and regulation.
  • Provide Board level leadership and assurance for governance, digital strategy, and cyber security.
  • Develop and implement an effective workforce strategy to support recruitment and retention.
  • Oversee the Communications and Marketing strategy to showcase the organisation's strengths and successes.
  • Manage corporate and departmental risks, ensuring up-to-date risk registers and mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the named responsible Officer for Health and Safety at board level.
  • Engage with landlords for facilities management and represent the organisation at tenant meetings.
  • Contribute to the growth and strategic planning of the organisation, working closely with the Commercial directorate.
  • Lead on the management of cost improvement plans and ensure value for money on goods and services supplied to the organisation.
  • Support the development of plans to improve digital resilience across all services and geographical locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A qualified Accountant with a good first degree and significant post-qualification experience (CIMA or ACA) or an experienced Finance Manager with a higher-level qualification, e.g., MBA.
  • Full UK driving Licence or the ability to travel to locations as needed.
  • Chartered member or Fellow of the CIPD/CIMA/ICSA.
  • An experienced Finance professional with a background in financial planning and general management.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a proactive role in making Finance and Digital central to the organisation's growth.
  • Experience in management at Board level with Executive and Non-Executive/Trustee experience gained within both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Operating in Healthcare
  • Experience in technology and healthcare digital delivery, information security and data legislation.
  • An understanding of current healthcare policy and the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and provider and commissioning organisations.
