Are you an experienced accountant from a practice background with proven expertise working with the medical sector? We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Accountant to join our growing specialist team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a Manager or Senior Manager with prior experience working with medical clients, offering flexibility to combine in-office and home working under our agile policy.
About the Role
You'll join a dynamic team of healthcare accounting experts, delivering top-tier accountancy, taxation, and business support services to a variety of medical professionals, including GP practices, private healthcare providers, medical partnerships, and sole traders. We are also proud members of the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA), offering unrivalled expertise and sector-specific insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and developing relationships with your own client portfolio, attending client meetings and providing top-notch service
- Reviewing accounts and tax computations, while overseeing and delegating work to junior team members
- Assisting with the development and training of trainees, reviewing their work, and offering constructive feedback
- Managing deadlines, budgets, and client billing processes efficiently
- Collaborating closely with partners and senior managers to provide tailored solutions to clients
- Expanding your own expertise through comprehensive healthcare-related training and development programs
- Engaging in networking and business development opportunities, where desired
What We're Looking For
- Part Qualified/Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant or equivalent experience within UK practice
- Solid experience preparing accounts and tax returns for both unincorporated and corporate clients
- Proven experience managing staff and training junior team members
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Sage, and Xero
- Excellent communication skills, confident and articulate when engaging with diverse clients
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, self-motivated approach
