Funeral Service Operative

Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 6HN
Salary: £28,250 per annum.
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Funeral Service Operative - The Role:

As Funeral Service Operative you will be responsible for contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the team, ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a timely and professional manner.

Duties Include

  • Participation in funerals as a Chauffer or Pall Bearer
  • Participation in the 24 hour on-call rota
  • Carrying out transfers of deceased persons
  • Care and presentation of deceased persons
  • Lining and fitting of coffins
  • Valeting the fleet of vehicles
  • Assisting with housekeeping duties to ensure that the premises are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition including maintaining and cleaning the mortuaries

Funeral Service Operative - What we need from you:

You will work alongside a team of highly professional, dedicated, compassionate individuals, who strive to provide the highest level of service, care and attention.

Due to the nature of this role and sensitive working environment, it is essential that the prospective candidate has a keen interest and desire to work within the funeral profession. This is a physically demanding role. Prior experience would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential. The candidate must be respectful and up-hold professional standards due to the immediate working environment and dealing with vulnerable families and people.

Essential:

  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Professional, caring and empathetic disposition
  • Smart personal presentation
