This company is seeking two Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team in Dudley, West Midlands. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing coil processing and roll forming machinery design. Due to the nature of the business, we are looking for someone who has experience with Roll Formers, Steel Slitting Machines and/or Coil Processing Equipment.

This is an office-based role and you would be representing the company from the UK facility in Dudley, you may be required to travel to customer and supplier sites, both domestically and internationally, as well as spend time working at other companies within the group on occasions.

Working within the Engineering department, your role would be to work alongside other engineering personnel, teams and departments, providing coil processing and roll forming machinery design.

We are looking for someone who is competent with Autodesk Inventor AutoCAD software and have at least three years' experience in machinery design.

What You Will Do

  • Perform all aspects of machinery design, including conceptual sales support and sales proposal drawings, and mechanical design calculations
  • Provide routine servicing and breakdown assistance to customers to quickly resolve problems
  • Understand specifications and create inventor models, assembly drawings, detail drawings, Bills-of-Materials, pre-order lists, and purchase orders and interact with PLM document management system
  • Liaise with colleagues and group companies, customers, and suppliers
  • Design and project manage to deliver robust machinery designs per specification, on-time, and in-budget
  • Create and maintain documentation including manufacturing, assembly, and test procedures

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Machinery Design
  • Previous experience with Roll Formers, Steel Slitting Machines, and/or Coil Processing Equipment
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor AutoCAD software
  • Proficient in dimensioning of mechanical drawings and experience of reviewing other designers' drawings and models
  • Competent with Microsoft Office 365 packages
