Junior IT System Administrator

Bristow Holland is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Junior IT System Administrator to join a fast-paced, dynamic organisation based in Felixstowe.

In this role, you'll be supporting 650 users across multiple UK offices, managing a wide range of IT systems including two data centers with 100 Windows and 10 SQL servers. You'll work with diverse IT equipment such as PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, as well as proprietary software applications.

The IT support team resolves approximately 1,500 tickets per month, so we need someone who thrives in a busy environment, is quick-thinking, organised, and has a problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise your own workload via the IT Support System (Manage Engine, ServiceDesk Plus)
  • Provide guidance to end users on best practices for using computing equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Administer user accounts via Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and third-party applications
  • Perform morning and evening checks to ensure system health and reliability
  • Occasional travel to other sites around the UK for system maintenance, comms rack management, network configuration, and hardware installations
  • Work independently to make decisive decisions based on business needs and impact

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Office 365, Windows Server, and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Azure and Intune
  • Networking experience, including configuration and support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards improving processes
  • Calm under pressure, with the confidence to manage escalations and critical issues

Salary is between £30k to £35k depending on experience with an excellent benefits package.
