We're looking for a Quality Control Operative to join an innovative company (with excellent benefits!) based in Hook, Hampshire, who operate in the electronics sector.
In this role you would be responsible for supporting the inspection and verification of assembled products to ensure they meet company and customer requirements. Operating within accredited quality standards, the role plays a key part in ensuring that all products consistently meet the highest levels of quality, compliance, and reliability before being released to customers.
This includes:
- Performing thorough visual and functional inspections of incoming electronic components, in-process assemblies, and final products according to company and customer specifications.
- Inspecting cable harnesses, printed circuit boards (PCBs), solder joints, wiring, connectors, and mechanical housings according to IPC standards and engineering drawings.
- Accurately completing inspection records, non-conformance reports, and quality checklists.
- Use a range of inspection tools and equipment, including Multimeter, verniers, cable tester and functional test rigs.
- Verify product labelling, part numbers, and revision levels to ensure traceability.
- Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming products, and support Quality and Operation teams to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive action processes.
- Maintain a clean and organised inspection area maintaining appropriate H&S standards.
- Update the company's ERP system with accurate and timely quality data, including inspection results, stock movements, and non-conformance records.
- Demonstrate experience working within an ISO 9001 environment; ISO 14001 experience would be an advantage.
- Support other departments and cross-functional teams as required by the business.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
About YOU!
- 3+ years' experiencein quality control or inspection within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a systematic approach to inspection tasks.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and quality standards.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or or IPC-A-620 is highly desirable.
- Experience using basic measurement and inspection tools (e.g. calipers, Multimeter, testing leads).
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualification in Electronics, Engineering, or Quality (e.g. HNC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- IPC-A-610 and/or or IPC-A-620 is highly desirable.
- Internal Auditor training (ISO 9001 or 14001) is advantageous but not essential.
