Barnsley Council are seeking an experienced Group Leader Depot Services to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis (37hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £52,889 - £56,633 per annum.

We're excited to be recruiting to our Environment and Transport Business Unit as part of the Commercial and Operational Service Support Team with this exciting opportunity to lead our Depot Services Team.

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking transformational leader to provide strategic leadership, management, development, and continuous improvement of an efficient internal and external customer focused Service.

This is centred around managing complex Depot operations, Fleet management and Workshop operations, Safety and Environmental compliance and Stores and Parts management.

The successful candidate will lead a multi skilled interdepartmental team who will contribute to and improve delivery of the Councils vision priorities and values ensuring best practice, of national guidelines and legislation.

This role encourages continuous professional development including a requirement to hold and/or gain a Transport Manager CPC qualification to support our Operators Licence compliance.

The ideal candidate will be educated to Level 6 in Leadership and Management or have relevant experience and hold a relevant level 5 professional qualification or relevant experience of workshop maintenance programmes.

The service is undergoing a period of Transformation, and the candidate will also need to have extensive experience and knowledge of complex depot operations and the modernisation of Stores and Parts management.
