Role: SEN Learning Support Workers

Contract: Flexible, long-term, and permanent positions available

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Long-Term Teachers collaborate with several special schools across Torbay and the surrounding areas, providing them with dedicated and enthusiastic support staff. These schools frequently seek full-time staff to ensure consistency for their students, though part-time positions may occasionally be available.

About the role:

  • Support Learning: Assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons, adapting materials and providing 1:1 or small group support to students
  • Encourage development: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social and emotional wellbeing
  • Collaborate: Working closely with teachers, parents and other staff members to develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILP's) and track student progress
  • Engage and inspire: Use creative and innovative methods to engage students in their learning, helping them to overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements

About you:

  • Experience in working with individuals with special needs and disabilities
  • Ideally available on a full time basis
  • Experience working with children, preferably within education
  • Must be reliable
  • Able to drive and has access to your own vehicle
  • Confident in handling challenging behaviour and tough situations
  • Genuinely passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people

These schools support students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD and SLD. If you have experience working with special needs (even in care or support settings), are passionate about working with children, and are reliable, we would love to hear from you!
