This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead internal communications for a large organization. The Head of Internal Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that promote a positive company culture and drive genuine employee engagement.

Our client is a large B2B organization employing 1,500 colleagues nationally. With a head office in Yorkshire, they also have multiple sites across the UK.

Description

The responsibilities for the Head of Internal Communications will include:

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy aligned with company goals
  • Create engaging content for a variety of internal communication mediums
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure consistency in messaging
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications
  • Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement
  • Manage crisis communications when necessary
  • Coordinate internal events to promote company culture
  • Oversee the internal communications budget
  • Management of 2 direct reports
  • Working closely with the marketing and brand team in developing the firms ESG strategy
  • Travelling to sites nationally when required for key events and initiatives

Profile

A successful 'Head of Internal Communications' should have:

  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
  • 8+ years experience in Internal Communications Management, ideally at a Head of Level.
  • Experience in managing a communications team
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders, and manage relationships upwards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven track record in developing and implementing effective communication strategies
  • Experience in project management and event planning
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
