I am representing an established insurance company who are looking for a junior IT Support Engineer who will benefit from mentorship and collaboration with experienced infrastructure and systems engineers/managers, as well as their knowledgeable development and underwriting teams.

Tasks and Objectives:

  • Procurement of new IT hardware and software
  • Maintenance of software licensing
  • Successful rollout of new hardware and systems
  • IT hardware and software asset management
  • Documentation upkeep
  • Pre-defined system checks
  • Active Directory user management
  • Helpdesk support
  • Security maintenance
  • User network support
  • Basic insurance knowledge development
  • Effective internal and external communication

You will gain exposure to:

  • Microsoft Windows 7,8,10 and 11, Any Microsoft Server Operating Systems
  • Cloud based Services: (Office 365, Azure)
  • Virtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Network Technologies (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/Firewalls)

Reporting Lines: Reports to Head of Infrastructure and IT, supervised by Lead Support Engineer

Personal Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: GCSEs or higher in maths and English or equivalent
  • Desirable: Computing-based degree, third-party IT qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Logical problem troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, cloud-based services, virtualization technologies, and network technologies
