Compliance Engineer

Our client, a leading independently owned property and infrastructure support services organisation, is seeking a Compliance Engineer to join their team in Peterborough. Our client delivers integrated building and facilities management services across diverse sectors, including Manufacturing, Food, Government, and private programmes.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute compliance programmes and complete documentation aligned to our client's compliance procedures.
  • Liaise with the design team, reviewing design data, and developing compliance policies.
  • Conduct DSEAR inspections.
  • Prepare timetables, cost estimates, and relevant resources required for compliance programmes.
  • Support clients in achieving compliance by identifying and resolving compliance issues and recommending appropriate product/process changes for best practise and continued improvement.
  • Document compliance by conducting appropriate testing and inspections, assessments, recording results, and preparing investigative reports.
  • Support the Duty Holder in improving current policies and procedures.
  • Enhance engineering and organisational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
  • Research and identify applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
  • Develop compliance plans by researching, analysing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria.

Skills and Experience:

  • Keep up-to-date with emerging compliance engineering practises and standards, participate in educational opportunities and professional organisations, and share findings with the wider team.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing area with complex products is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving continuous improvement activities against objectives.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and able to use statistical methods to analyse and solve problems.
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to operate confidently at all levels.
  • Professional and diplomatic approach, leading by example.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' experience as an Electrical Compliance Engineer.
  • CompEx 01-04 certification is desirable.
  • CompEx 05-06 certification is desirable.
  • City & Guilds RA & PUWER Practical Workshop is desirable.
  • City & Guilds Machinery Safety Course is desirable.
