I am currently working with a rapidly growing business with two senior members of staff and two accounts assistants. They have a great working culture but also someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, your primary role will be to assist the finance team with weekly payroll, sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and various reconciliations.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Reconciling pension creditors and uploading pensions for PAYE reconciliation and HMRC payments.
- Handling attachment reconciliations and payments.
- Auto-enrolling employees and maintaining the pension portal for new hires and leavers.
- Maintaining the weekly payroll summary
- Preparing and posting the weekly wages accrual journal at month-end.
- Raising sales invoices.
- Performing bank postings and reconciliations.
- Posting and reconciling credit card transactions.
- Posting and reconciling petty cash.
- Preparing VAT returns, reconciling with Sage, reviewing percentages, and checking for errors before submission and payment.
- Providing ad hoc reporting and general finance support.
Experience:
- Familiarity with accounting software packages.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proactive and motivated team player.
