About the Role:
As a Teacher of English, you will play a pivotal role in the development of students' reading, writing, and analytical skills, preparing them for success both academically and in life. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities, ensuring that every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the development of the English curriculum and the overall success of the department.
- Engage with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Take an active role in the school community, participating in extracurricular activities and supporting school events.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
- A passion for English literature and language, coupled with the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
