Role: HR Business Partner

Location: Multi-site (Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, UK)

Hybrid: 3-4 days site based

About the Role

We're seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our packaging division as a multi-site HR Business Partner, providing strong HR expertise to our Blunham, Kettering and Wellingborough sites.

Reporting into the Senior HR Business Partner you will act as a change agent and be pivotal in driving forward the HR and business strategy to enable a step change in culture and performance. You will translate the HR Corporate Plan into actionable site people plans alligned with business needs.

You will use your experience to coach our site leaders on several key focus areas including Change Management, Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Employee Relations, and Recruitment & Selection. You will be a problem solver who is trusted in resolving challenging situations, continually driving best practice, and ensuring compliance with all company procedures, policies and employment legislation.

About you

You will work closely with our HR specialists in Reward, Talent & Development and Talent Acquisition to ensure delivery of the site people plan. You will work closely with our Employee Relations team and site leaders on performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance cases. You should have a track record of working in a progressive and collaborative employee relations environment by working in partnership with recognised trade unions. You will have the ability to support the sites leaders with driving engagement and improvements across the site. In addition, you will be analytical and comfortable with monthly reporting & HRIS management.

Minimum requirements:

  • Experience of operating as a HR Business Partner in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-site experience, ideally in Manufacturing, FMCG, or Logistics
  • Experience of coaching managers in delivering HR related activities
  • Ability to take a hands-on approach to some transactional tasks but think both operationally and strategically
  • Up to date, comprehensive knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation
  • Resilient, organised and analytical with a positive and confident approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Tools - particularly Excel and Word
  • Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel where needed

Preferred requirements:

  • CIPD Level 5 or above, or working towards / equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in partnership with trade unions
  • Workday experience would be beneficial

This is an onsite role, you will be expected to work weekly from site Monday to Friday (with occasional working from home).
