People Solutions are looking for a Plant Maintenance Operator for our Client based in Livingston.

Day to Day Duties
- Conducting all your duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times
- Handling motorised equipment such as Excavator 360°, Wheeled Loading Shovel, Rear Dump Truck, Dozer, Crusher and Screener
- Preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials, and liaising with co-workers to ensure that the production is completed accurately
- Supervise the wash plant operation and proactively participate in the daily wash plant cleaning and maintenance, at the start and end of the shift
- Support with the maintenance and repairs of the wash plant, under the guidance and supervision of the Plant Manager
- Display a proactive, positive and cooperative teamwork approach to your daily tasks and with your colleagues
- Monitor workflow, suggesting alterations to enhance productivity, as needed
- Collectively clean the screens of the wash plant each morning, prior to starting the wash plant for production
- Work together with your colleagues to ensure your strengths and skills are being utilised for the most efficient and productive day
- Display teamwork and support your colleagues to ensure business needs are met
- Carry out daily checks of all mobile plant and machinery before starting to operate and record on the daily checklists, ensuring that any defects are reported to the Plant Manager
- Carry out daily maintenance of mobile plant, including (but limited to) adequately fuelling the vehicle, ensure the fuel cap is always present, check oil, check water and greasing when required
- Manoeuvre motorized, mobile, heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials
- Load HGVs and offload waste and products from heavy equipment
- Ensure mobile plant is operated as efficiently as possible and fuel is being preserved, where possible
- Always observe stipulated safety codes and legislated Health & Safety responsibilities
- Communicate with co-workers to explain production and consignment requirements, as needed
- Report injuries and other accidents to the Plant Manager and / the SHEQ Manager
- Advise the Plant Manager of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements
- Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organised at the end of each shift
- Provide suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency
Essential Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible attitude to work
- Quarry or similar experience
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Possessing sound knowledge of when to lead or follow
Desirable Experience
It will be beneficial if you have any licences for Excavator 360°, Wheeled Loading Shovel, Rear Dump Truck, Dozer, Crusher and Screener.
Training
Fully paid Induction.
